The journey began with an ARPA-funded pilot project. Trellis for Tomorrow was instrumental in navigating those early days, helping us transform a conceptual solution for food insecurity into a tangible, "farmers market on wheels." Their deep roots in the Pottstown community provided the trust and the platform we needed to bridge the "last mile" of food access.
The GROW Program: Investing in the Next Generation
Our partnership isn't just about logistics; it’s about people. Every season, The Best Route hosts an intern through the Trellis GROW program.
This is a true "Double Bottom Line" success story. For us, it means having a dedicated, mission-aligned team member helping manage the truck and the farm. For the interns, it provides a real-world classroom in social enterprise, food systems, and community leadership. Watching these young leaders take ownership of food equity in their own neighborhoods is, quite simply, the best part of our work.
